This study is about re-awakening sacredness in the workplace by establishing an open and safe work environment so that theological and spiritual values may be expressed and lived out by workers and supported by management. The fundamental premise is that the work culture must honor the sharing of power, resources and rewards. The study developed a ‘Theology of Work’ represented as a theoretical model of the work culture set into dynamic relationships that operate among three forces: (1) the corporate culture (structure or systems); (2) the spirituality of the individual; and (3) the theology that supports the practical application of a Theology of Work. A conceptual model was developed that visually illustrates the dynamic nature of work as sacred. Simply expressed, the model functions as a set of feedback loops that emphasize the inter-relatedness of our theology and spirituality in the workplace.
